Oh, yeah, it was a patient business and Google was your #1 source of organic traffic. Social media marketing via Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram were not really the big thing, yet. Instead you had news outlets like Digg, Reddit, Buzzfeed, Squidoo, and your blog feed for traffic sources. Clickbank was a primary way of monetizing your blog using affiliate products.
Thirteen years later, the landscape has enlarged and the marketing possibilities, endless . Yet, I can tell you after thousands of hours and dollars spent, the principles of marketing remain unchanged. The author’s biggest struggle, for example, will not be selling more books but learning how to follow fundamental marketing principles in a very noisy marketplace.
